The San Antonio-Mexico Friendship Council, SAMFCO, is an organization started 20 years ago by then Consul General of Mexico, Carlos Sada, now Undersecretary for North American Affairs at SRE. SAMFCO was established in 1996 as a not-for-profit dedicated to strengthening and promoting the cultural ties shared by the citizens of San Antonio and Mexico and supporting the activities of the Mexican Consulate in San Antonio. The organization hosts charitable, cultural, educational and literary events.

SAMFCO – WHO WE ARE
The San Antonio–Mexico Friendship Council (SAMFCO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Ambassador Carlos Manuel Zada Solana, then Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio, along with other prominent leaders. SAMFCO was created with a mission: to foster and strengthen the cultural, educational, and social ties between the citizens of San Antonio and Mexico.
Moving Forward Between Countries
The organization supports a myriad of cultural and civic activities along with the Mexican Consulate and the Mexican Cultural Institute in San Antonio. SAMFCO also provides students of Mexican origin attending colleges and universities in the San Antonio area with scholarships to further their education.
Gala 2024
The Noche de Amistad Gala is held to celebrate and strengthen the deep ties between San Antonio and Mexico, serving as a key fundraising event for the San Antonio–Mexico Friendship Council (SAMFCO).
